2018 Blog Update

Greetings! I am in the process of updating some of the info contained herein, including correcting some links that don't work anymore.  In some cases I need to go back and find my original documents so that I can post copies of them.

I am disappointed but unfortunately not surprised that Elavon/Ladco Leasing are still up to their dirty tricks to take advantage of small business owners. I'm not a lawyer, but my best advice is to do what I did: do your own research online. I found info about contracts and unconscionability to be particularly enlightening.  Check out the U.C.C. (Universal Commercial Code).

I hope that previous court decisions, including the one in my own case, will prove themselves useful in your efforts to beat these scumbags.

Cheers, Deb.

State of Tennessee Attorney General v Elavon and Ladco: Final Judgment and Permanent Injunction, June 24, 2015

Well, what do you know?  In "The State of Tennessee Attorney General v Elavon, Inc. and Ladco Financial Group", the judge ruled in favor of the plaintiffs, ordering Elavon and Ladco to provide full restitution to Tennessee consumers. If you are still fighting Elavon/Ladco, have your attorney or other legal advisor read this Judgment and determine how the terms of the Injunction may be applied to your case.

Ventura County Press Release, April 30, 2012

January 2016, I keep getting emails from various people requesting info on how to get out of their contracts with Elavon/Ladco Leasing.  Previously published links to the May 2012 press release from the Ventura County (Calif.) District Attorney's Office regarding the resolution of the civil case against Elavon/Ladco are obsolete.  I have looked up relevant online content and am posting these documents here on the blog.  I hope this info will help people who are still being victimized by Elavon/Ladco Leasing.

Below is the News Release from the Ventura County (Calif) District Attorney's Office:

Same S#^% Different Year

Elavon is up to their own tricks again--or still would be more correct here.  They go ahead and pay whatever paltry settlement necessary to get rid of the biggest "troublemakers" and then carry on merrily with their old unethical business practices just because there are always new victims to be had who cave and pay whatever is necessary to get Elavon off their backs rather than fight the difficult and time-consuming fight necessary to beat these jerks. I'm beginning to notice a pattern, and that is that their unpleasant and unscrupulous collections and scare tactics seem to escalate toward the end of a calendar year. 'Tis the season....

There is ongoing discussion about Elavon's practices on various internet forums devoted to consumer complaints.

For those merchants who are looking to set up merchant services accounts, you can find honest, non-biased reviews of many merchant services providers at CardPaymentOptions.com.  I stumbled across their site once upon a time during my  relentless search for info about Elavon as well as other merchant services providers. Here is their current review for Elavon. Personally, I find their "C" rating to be rather generous.
